The most treasured heirlooms are the sweet memories of family
This is a quote I couldn’t agree with more, and that’s why I set out to create beautiful, timeless memory bears and keepsake blankets to literally ‘hold on’ to some of my most precious memories of when my children were born.
I know first hand how hard it is to get rid of baby’s outgrown clothes, especially when they remind you of those precious but overwhelming first days, first smiles or first rolls. It’s also a shame to keep them boxed up hidden at the back of a wardrobe, so let’s dig them out and turn them in to treasures that can be cherished and admired forever! And of course, it’s not just baby clothes that can be turned in to cherished keepsakes, uniforms from the end of an era or treasured clothing from lost loved ones can be a comforting way to keep them close.
I’m Leah, Chief Keepsake Artist (and everything else) at Cuddle Me Keepsakes. I’ve always been an avid sewer and when my Gran gave me her trusted sewing machine eight years ago, I was able to reignite my passion. I love looking at a piece of fabric and imagining all the amazing things I can create from it. I’m completely self taught, which I’m really proud of (with a lot of advice and guidance from my Gran, who was a seamstress, and my Mum – the daughter of a seamstress). I’m also a bit of a perfectionist and pride myself on my quality of work.
Away from my sewing machine, I’m a lover of all things creative. I love interior design, pattern and colour, writing and dancing. Not that I get much chance to pursue these interests as you’ll mainly find me running around and being Mummy to my three little people! We’re a family who love sport, dancing, music and the magic of Disney.
When it comes to my Cuddle Me Keepsakes collection, it’s not just about sewing skills, it’s about how you work with colour, patterns and fabric to make these precious creations. You could give 10 keepsake makers the same pile of clothes and they would each create something completely different. I consider my Keepsakes to be very classic, elegant and made with a whole lot of love and attention to detail.
So if you’re looking for a way to cuddle up to those treasured memories, take a look through my portfolio or send me a message to find out more.
Life is a collection of moments, with little moments making big memories!
Cherish. Cuddle. Keep
Much Love, Leah xxx
